Description
One of Olympic National Park’s most versatile raptors is the osprey. With a wingspan of nearly six feet, these predators feast on a diet of approximately 99% fish. Join a ranger to view and discuss an active nest. Ranger will be onsite for ~1 hour and will offer 10-minutes talks as visitors arrive. Visitors may come and go freely.
Meet on the Staircase Rapids Loop trail near the Big Cedar junction: From the Staircase parking area, the Staircase Rapids Loop trailhead is located directly across the bridge over the Skokomish River. Proceed about 0.3 miles on the Staircase Rapids Loop to the signed junction for Big Cedar at left.
