Hoofin' It

Join Parkway rangers for a moderate, 2.4 mile round-trip hike on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail from Elk Pasture Gap and learn how we can co-exist with our hoofed friends.  We will discuss the extirpation and reintroduction of elk in the Southeast, as well as the biology and seasonal cycles of the elk and other ungulates.  Stuck in a rut?  Come on our Elk Hike! 

Meet at Milepost 405.5 (Elk Pasture Gap) and park in the dirt pull-off next to the exit for Highway 151.  Bring water, wear good walking shoes, and be prepared for changeable weather.
