African American experiences are vital to Big Thicket’s story. How did emancipated people provide for themselves after freedom? How did they interact with a society that wasn’t built for them?
Find out and hear uncovered stories about African Americans in Big Thicket during a special 1-hour presentation inside the visitor center theater.
