Signal Hill Petroglyphs and the People who Made Them (West District)

Saguaro National Park

  • Every week on Sunday at 10:30 AM from March 02, 2025 to March 30, 2025
  • Free

Join an interpretive volunteer at Signal Hill for a 1/2 mile/one hour walk to learn about the Hohokam people who are believed to have been the creators of the petroglyphs in the park at Signal Hill and throughout the greater Tucson and Phoenix areas. The alternative short walk back to the parking area will introduce you to some of the plants in the area and how they have been used as food and medicine in the past. Signal Hill is a 20-minute drive from the Red Hills visitor center and parking is limited. This program includes a short uphill walk with steps. Some petroglyphs can be viewed from the parking area, but the full program includes the walk to the top of the small hill where more petroglyphs are on display.
