Wilderness Weekends: Owl Program

Fire Island National Seashore

Special Event

Did you know that Snowy Owls travel from the Arctic to Fire Island during the winter? Learn more about Long Island’s native and non-native owls and how owls are unable to digest the teeth, bones, and feathers of their prey. They regurgitate the remains in a single nugget. Join a ranger to dissect a real owl pellet to discover what it ate.

This is a free program, suitable for adults and families with children. Registration is required - please call 631-281-3010 or email e-mail us. Limit 25 people.
