There will be no parking available at the event site or nearby in the park. All parking will be at Pantano Church at 1755 S Houghton Rd. Shuttles will start taking people from the church to the event at 10am and will run continuously both ways throughout the event. If you opt to use the shuttle service, the park entry fee will be waved. The event itself will be an outdoor event at Mica View Picnic Area, which is roughly 20 minutes away from the visitor center along the Cactus Forest Loop drive.

Description
This special event will feature the unveiling of a special picnic table featuring a nature-themed poem selected by US Poet Laureate Ada Limón. After the unveiling, join park staff and partners for fun family activities that connect park science and culture to art by writing your own poem. Light refresments will be provided, but Consider bringing a picnic lunch to eat around the table!
The formal program will last only 30-minutes, but visitors are welcome to stay as long as they wish to engage with park partners and with the poem.
