Juneteenth: From Enslaved to Emancipated
Slavery was legal in Maryland until November 1, 1864, when the new State Constitution, voted on by Marylanders, went into effect ending the practice. Join a ranger walk to learn about the enslaved people who lived and worked on the six historic properties that make up Monocacy National Battlefield, as well as the U.S. Colored Troops who enlisted at Monocacy Junction.
