Civil War Photography Weekend
10:30 AM, 1:30 PM: Wet Plate Photography Demonstrations
Join living history volunteers for a talk about the process of wet plate photography; programs will take place in the visitor center orientation room. They will also have a station for children to make cyanotypes to take home with them.
11:15 AM, 2:15 PM: Antietam in 3-D
Take a fascinating 3-D journey into the bloodiest day of the Civil War when Ranger Keith presents a show featuring stereographs of Antietam Battlefield taken by photographer Alexander Gardner in the wake of the battle. Wearing 3-D glasses, you'll feel as if you can walk right into these stark and graphic battlefield scenes. Program will last approximately 45 minutes and will take place in the visitor center auditorium.
