Lantern Light Tours

Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park

  • Every week on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 PM from March 15, 2024 to March 23, 2024
  • Fees apply
Held yearly during Macon’s Cherry Blossom Festival, the Lantern Light Tours at Ocmulgee Mounds are a family-favorite event. Grab a lantern and stroll along the luminary-lined path, from the Visitor Center to the Great Temple Mound.  Join interpretive talks at the bridge, Earth Lodge, Trading Post, and the Great Temple Mound.  Step back in time to learn about the Indigenous people who once lived here over the course of Ocmulgee’s rich 12,000 year history.  See Downtown Macon illuminated at night from the top of the Great Temple Mound.

Tours begin at 7:30pm, running every 10 minutes, with the last tour beginning at 9:00pm.
Tours are approximately one hour.  Please arrive 10 minutes before tour time to check in. Gates open at 7:00pm.
This event will take place rain or shine, and the ground is uneven in places.

Tour sizes are limited, so please pre-purchase a ticket to reserve your spot.
