Park Day Volunteer Project
Stones River National Battlefield calls upon our friends and neighbors to join us and our partners at Picnic Pavilion #1 in Old Fort Park on Saturday April 13, 2019 as up to 200 volunteers work to remove trash and invasive exotic plants from Fortress Rosecrans, Old Fort Park and the Lytle Creek Greenway.
Check-in begins at 8:30 AM. The Friends of the Stones River National Battlefield and Walmart will provide lunch for all volunteers at 12:30 PM.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. We are asking individuals and groups to pre-register by contacting Jim Lewis at 615-893-9501 or by email at jim_b_lewis@nps.gov. We will need groups of six or more volunteers to have one person per every 6-8 volunteers attend one of our Squad Boss training sessions and learn how to lead their fellow volunteers in the day's work.
