Description
As you stroll about the grounds of the Cone Flat Top Manor and enjoy the 26 miles of carriage trails on this 3600-acre estate, there are plenty of items that you may wonder about. Many are clues to the buildings and other features that were a big part of the estate during the 1901-1947 historic period when this was a working farm with over 32,000 apple trees and 57 buildings. This 20-minute illustrated talk will elucidate some of these mysteries.
Meet in the dining room of Flat Top Manor, also called Cone Craft Center at mile marker 294 just outside of Blowing Rock. This is the room where the short films on the Cone family are shown on a rotating basis.
