A Tavern Thanksgiving
Visit the Knob Creek Tavern Visitor Center during the month of November for a glimpse back in time to see how Thanksgiving would have been celebrated in the 1930s.
On the days when the Tavern is open, visitors can enjoy seeing a humble table setting of what a traditional 1930s Thanksgiving dinner could have looked like featuring turkey and seasonal fruits and vegetables. Sit and enjoy music from the 1930s Tavern radio while you enjoy a game of checkers or dominoes.
Abraham Lincoln, who lived at Knob Creek Farm from age 5 to 7, would later go on to establish Thanksgiving as a national holiday during the Civil War.
