Community Trailblazing Project at Sandy Hook
Engage in a community service project at Sandy Hook’s Bird Loop Trail by helping to remove vegetation (vines/bushes with thorns, spines and prickles) and debris from a fragile maritime upland forest. Celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and the only national holiday designated as a National Day of Service by leaving the trails open and clear for visitors and wildlife to enjoy. Dress in warm clothing, thick pants, and waterproof footwear. Gloves and tools will be supplied. NPS Volunteer Service Agreement forms must be completed by each participant. Reservation sign-up on Eventbrite.
