Photography Exhibit and Presentation: Activist & Foot Soldier Mr. Bernard Kleina
In 1965, then Father Bernard Kleina, arrived in Selma with his camera to participate in the Minister's March alongside Dr. King and hundreds of other clergymen. This experience deeply impacted Kleina and after the successful march, he returned to Chicago where he spent the next 36 years as Executive Director of Fair Hope Housing Center advocating for fair housing for all.
Join the Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail in welcoming Mr. Kleina as he shares his experiences in Selma and Chicago as an activist and view this historic display of his photographs dating back to 1965.
After the program, Mr. Kleina's photography exhibit will remain on display at the Lowndes Interpretive Center through August 31, 2024.
