Description
Visit one of the few original structures left in the park that witnessed the Second Battle of Manassas and hear about the story of widow Lucinda Dogan and her family. Returning home after the battle, they found hundreds of dead, dying, and wounded Union soldiers in their yard. Lucinda’s kindness to these men and her family's humanitarian efforts were never forgotten by them, and she would be lauded in 1906 when they returned to dedicate monuments to their regiments. Visit Mrs. Dogan’s wartime home to learn more about the Dogan family living in the small community of Groveton and how they moved on after the battle.
