Description
Join a panel of historians for a special Lowell Talks focused on the history and legacy of the Irish canal builders in eastern Massachusetts. This panel will include historians Dave McKean, Robert Forrant, Kate Viens, and Jermiah Breen. The program will be moderated by park ranger Frank Clark.
The canals of Lowell powered dozens of textile mills that defined the region. Irish canal builders helped reshape the physical and cultural landscape of Middlesex County.
This program is free, but reservations are required. Call 978-970-5000 to reserve your spot. Space is limited.
Free parking is available at the Hamilton Canal Innovation District parking garage at 350 Dutton St., Lowell. Parking in this garage (only) is available to National Park visitors at no cost provided they obtain a valid parking voucher at either the LNHP Visitor Center (246 Market Street).
