Description

Join Boston Harbor Islands National & State Park for the return of Night Sky camping on Peddocks Island!

Learn how to use a telescope, admire the cosmos, tell stories around a campfire, and enjoy an overnight excursion to on the second largest island in Boston Harbor!

Tickets include:

Roundtrip ferry ride from the Seaport to Peddocks Island
Camping site for one night in the group camping area
Night Sky ranger-led programs
Additional evening programming

What to bring: Please bring everything necessary for a backcountry camping experience including:

Tent(s)
Blankets, pillows, camping pads
Charcoal & a camping stove if you have one. Please note, any propane must be camping-size (16oz or less - no full-sized tanks permitted on the ferry).
Cooking & eating utensils as well as plates or bowls
Food & beverages to last your entire trip. Please note that *NO ALCOHOL* is permitted on the island. There is potable water to refill water bottles.
Trash bags. Peddocks Island is carry on, carry off, meaning you must bring all trash back to the mainland with you on Sunday.
Outdoor clothing and gear
Bug spray, sunscreen, hat, & sunglasses
*Optional*: Binoculars, telescopes, cameras, swimsuit & towel, and anything else you'd like to bring to enhance your experience!
No pets of any variety allowed - no exceptions.

Directions & Parking

Plan to arrive to 200 Seaport Blvd at 10:00am on Saturday (see photo here). Look for Bay State Cruises signs and the Boston Harbor Now staff member who will check you in using the last name on your reservation. The ferry will board beginning at 10:30am and depart promptly at 11:00 am. No refunds will be issued if you miss the boat.

Parking: Public transportation or ride share is highly encouraged, but there are numerous parking garages in the area. For the best rate, we recommend using the Spot Hero app or choosing the Atlantic Wharf garage ($24 - 15 minute walk to the dock). Please plan ahead!

Sunday Drop Off Location: Participants will be dropped at a *different* dock in the Seaport on Sunday (either Fan Pier or Moakley Courthouse, both about a 10 minute walk from 200 Seaport Blvd).
