Winter Festival
Join us for an afternoon of winter exploration! Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument, the Maine Forest Service, and many local Katahdin area organizations will set up stations that youth and their families can visit to learn all about the different aspects of winter including ecology, recreation, and safety.
Stations will be indoors, outdoors, and along the trail. Some stations include:

Family Programs by National Park Service, Maine Forest Service, Lumbermen's Museum, Baxter State Park, Katahdin Learning Project, and Southern Aroostook Soil and Water Conservation District

Storybook Lane by Veteran's Memorial Library

Hands-on Exploration by Katahdin Children & Families Foundation and local artist Charlene Lutz

Skiing and Snowshoeing Demos by Outdoor Sport Institute and Katahdin Gear Library
