Description
On Saturday, June 24, Aztec Ruins National Monument will offer a Ranger-led tour of the Aztec East great house!
Aztec East is an unexcavated pueblo that is normally closed to the public, in order to protect the fragile archaeological resources. Since we can only bring a small group there at a time, the tour will be limited to the first 15 people who sign up.
The tour will begin at 9:30 AM at the Aztec Ruins Visitor Center, and it will last approximately 60 to 90 minutes. Participants will be walking about a half mile on uneven surfaces, so we recommend sturdy walking shoes, plenty of water, and sun protection. Food is not allowed on the tour.
If interested, call the Aztec Ruins visitor center at (505) 334-6174 to reserve a space. The tour is free of charge, but participation is limited to the first 15 people who sign up. You must call the visitor center to reserve a spot. The visitor center is open daily, 9am-5pm.
