Special Event
Antietam National Battlefield will present the Annual Memorial Illumination to honor the 23,000 casualties from the Battle of Antietam on September 17, 1862. A candle is placed on the field for each casuality to remember the sacrifices made to further the idea of freedom.
Fees
This event is free to attend.
Location
Cars enter the park by traveling west on Route 34 and lining up on the shoulder of the road. Vehicles will then travel the northern end of the field and view the luminaries from their cars.
