Meet the Rangers and Volunteers at the Wahweap Amphitheater. The parking lot is paved and flat. The rangers will have a section of it cordoned off for the telescopes. On order to maintain night sky viewing abilities, there will be no white lights, just a few red ones to help move. The curbs and tripods may be tripping hazards. People with low vision may not be able to see through the telescopes.

Half The Park Is After Dark!

Take a break from the bustle and bright lights of daily life. Chat with the ranger until the stars come out, then gaze away!

Dark skies and abundant stars over Glen Canyon National Recreation Area offer premier stargazing.
This activity is weather dependent and may be canceled in the event of high wind or an unclear sky. Please do not point your headlights at the telescopes.
