Ranger Talk at the Carl Hayden Visitor Center

Glen Canyon National Recreation Area

Fee:

Free.

Location: LAT/LONG: 36.935746, -111.485594

Carl Hayden Visitor Center is a beige, mid-century modern building. It has a full circular rotunda and a long hallway off the side. The front of the hallway is floor-length windows facing the parking lot. The visitor center is physically connected to Glen Canyon Dam by elevator. The parking lot has ample marked handicapped parking, and many other spots that do not require stepping on or over a curb to continue. Foot traffic is often busy, due to the popularity of not only the visitor center, but access to the sidewalks along Glen Canyon Bridge. There are physical barricades that prevent vehicles from approaching the building too closely, but they have a wide enough area around them to allow wheelchair access.
