Celebrate Independence Day at Castle Clinton
Join the National Park Service, cultureNOW, American Friends of Lafayette, and the Lower Manhattan Historical Association for the traditional Independence Day flag-raising ceremony at Castle Clinton.
The Veterans Corps of Artillery of New York, 9th New York Field Artillery Regiment (VCASNY), will raise the Star-Spangled Banner over Castle Clinton in full military regalia. Speeches by the American Friends of Lafayette and Lower Manhattan Historical Association will follow the ceremony. At 10:45am, participants will form up outside Castle Clinton for a parade around Lower Manhattan.
Ranger-led tours of Castle Clinton will be offered throughout the day at 12:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:30pm. All events are free and open to the public.
