Did you know that the first African American troops that ever saw action during the Civil War were stationed at Fort Smith? They served in battles before, during, and after their distinctive service here and helped to open the door for thousands of other African troops to serve in the nation abroad.

Join Ranger Cody Faber as he and volunteers discuss their service and demonstrate their equipment and weapons. The program will include a historic musket demonstration and is free to the public.
