Description

Visit the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail table at George Washington Birthplace National Monument to learn about the Homespun Movement and how the contributions of women supported the Colonies and the Revolutionary War effort! 

Also at this event: 

  • Experience a rendezvous with revolution by meeting Continental Army soldiers and witnessing black powder demonstrations at 10:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.
  • Get outdoors and enjoy demonstrations and challenging kid-friendly activities throughout the park.
  • Meet our Artist in Residence, Rita Verroca, and view her remarkable quilt work firsthand at the park's Log House.
  • Discover how you can help uncover the stories of the American Revolution as told by those who lived it.
  • Delve into George Washington's military career and tactics with a special presentation on June 15th at 2:00 p.m. in the visitor center auditorium, gaining insight into the strategic decisions that shaped his legacy.
