Description

Join a ranger for a brief overview of Great Falls Park. Explore the complex stories and ecosystem that makes up Great Falls Park. Learn about the life of Captain George Pointer, a formerly enslaved African American, who worked on the Patowmack Canal and purchased his freedom, living out the rest of his days with his family near Great Falls. Enjoy views of the views of the iconic waterfall. 

The talk will be outdoors and exposed to the elements. The program will not take place if the temperature is below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, or during inclement weather.
