WILSON'S CREEK NATIONAL BATTLEFIELD SPONSORS "PARK DAY" CLEAN-UP EVENT
Wilson's Creek National Battlefield will be joining the American Battlefield Trust in holding the 23rd annual "Park Day" clean-up event on Saturday, April 6, 2019. Work projects planned for 2019 are:
- Landscaping work around the Visitor Center and Park Headquarters.
- Removing trash and flood debris along the banks of Wilson’s Creek.
- Painting handrails near the picnic area.
Volunteers are asked to meet at the Visitor Center at 8:30 a.m. to register and to form into work groups. Work will continue until about 12 p.m., depending on the project. Volunteers should wear appropriate outdoor work clothing, work shoes or boots, and bring work gloves, hat and sunscreen. Drinking water and light snacks will be provided. The American Battlefield Trust is a national nonprofit land preservation organization devoted to the protection of America’s hallowed battlegrounds. It saves the battlefields of the Civil War, Revolutionary War and War of 1812, and educates the public about their importance in forging the nation we are today.
