Visitors come to the Memorial House Museum to remember George Washington, but also find a story of how the past can be lost, reshaped, or rediscovered Explore two centuries of efforts to honor George Washington’s legacy at his birthplace, culminating in the opening of the Memorial House Museum during the celebration of his bicentennial birth anniversary in 1932.
