The Canarsie Pier and Beach

Meet at the historic pier at Canarsie and learn about Pre-World War II plans to construct dozens of wharves and storage facilities in a partially filled-in Jamaica Bay. Join naturalist Mickey Maxwell Cohen on a hike along a biologically-rich intertidal beach on a search for native flora and fauna. Binoculars and a magnifying glass will be helpful. This is an American Littoral Society Partnership Program.
