Volunteer Trail Work Event on the Historic Shut-In Trail

Are you interested in maintaining trails? Do you love hiking and being outdoors? Join Blue Ridge Parkway partners, Conservation Corps North Carolina and Carolina Mountain Club on Saturday, October 26th, from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Bent Creek River Park in Asheville, NC for a volunteer trail work day. Volunteers will help to restore a section of the historic 16-mile Shut-In Trail that runs from the French Broad River area to Mt. Pisgah.
 
Come prepared: Wear long pants, close-toed shoes, clothes you can get dirty in, and sun protection; bring a packed lunch and water
 
Provided on site: Snacks, drinks, tools, protective equipment, and instruction. Parking lot available for vehicles and portable toilets are on site.

Location

Meet at Bent Creek River Park. From the Parkway, at Milepost 393, turn off of the Parkway toward N.C. Arboretum and Highway 191 (Brevard Rd.). At the stop light, turn right, and Bent Creek River Park is immediately on the left.
