29th Annual Park Day.

Volunteers will help restore a portion of the battlefield by removing an obsolete maintenance road (wooden planks used to take vehicles across wet areas) from the field near the Crater Battlefield at Stop 8 on the Eastern Front Tour Road. This event will begin at 9:30 am and will end at 1:00 pm. Volunteers will meet just past the parking area for Stop 8, the Crater Battlefield.

Interested participants should email the Volunteer Coordinator at PETE_VIP@nps.gov, registration is limited to 35 people. Volunteers are recommended to bring water, sunscreen, gloves (if they choose), bug spray, and to dress for the weather. Long pants and closed-toe shoes that can get wet are also recommended. Work will involve bending and some physical strength. In the case of inclement weather, this event will be canceled.
