Description
Come by the Sylvan Theater on the south side of the Washington Monument grounds and join us for a celebration of Women's Equality Day! Learn about the fight for women's right to vote and the confrontational tactics of the National Woman's Party in the campaign for the 19th Amendment. Design your own ratification star, create a Suffrage Cat, get your picture taken wearing a purple, white, and gold suffrage sash, and more. You can earn your Junior Suffragist badge and pledge to continue the work for positive change. We'll have pop-up exhibits as well as park rangers from the Belmont-Paul Women's Equality National Monument to tell stories of the ongoing struggle for women's equality.
