Lower Burro Mesa Pouroff Geology Walk
The desert landscape that characterizes Big Bend National Park now was not always a desert! As recently as 75 million years ago, Big Bend was covered by a shallow inland sea. And 32 to 25 ma, cataclysmic volcanic activity created a vastly different landscape. Join Volunteer J. Sumrall for an exploration of some of the defining features of the resulting landscape.
