Join us for a morning of collecting litter from MNRR's beloved Mulberry Bend Overlook! This event is centered around National Trails Day, which is a day of service organized by the American Hiking Society to help maintain trails and get folks out to enjoy them.

When: Saturday, June 1st, 9am-12

Where: Mulberry Bend Overlook

What: Volunteers will comb through the parking lot, paved trail, and unpaved trails at Mulberry Bend Overlook to collect litter. The site can be quite steep in places, so the activity may be strenuous. Volunteers may be going off-trail as well. Stay until the end for a ranger hike/talk to learn more about the natural and cultural history at the park.

To register as an individual volunteer or group leader, apply on volunteer.gov!

Fees

This event is free to attend.

Location

To get to Mulberry Bend Overlook, take South Dakota Highway 19 south from Vermillion (it becomes Nebraska Highway 15 as soon as you cross the bridge) or Nebraska Highway 15 north toward Vermillion. The overlook is on the east side of the highway in Nebraska.
