The Amoureux House will be open to visitors from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. You can come and go as you like during that time.
Description
The Amoureux House was built in 1792 and is one of five poteux en terre homes still standing in the United States. Pélagie, a woman who was formerly enslaved, owned this home and faced life with courage and wisdom. We invite you to come inside, learn about the people who called this place home, and explore the rooms at your leisure.
A ranger will be on-site to answer questions as you explore.
