Park Day 2024
Pre-registration on Volunteer.gov is required.
Work alongside NPS Park Rangers as we clean the Confederate cenotaphs located at Zollicoffer Park! Space is limited to 12 people, so sign up today!
What is a cenotaph? A cenotaph is a tomb or monument erected in honor of a person or group of people whose remains are elsewhere.
Participate in a Park Ranger interpretive talk describing the significance of the cenotaphs and the importance of preservation of battlefield sites like Mill Springs Battlefield. Then join park staff as they clean the 147 cenotaphs located out at Zollicoffer Park.
The event will take place at Zollicoffer Park with parking available on site. Accessible parking and drop off will be available.
This is a moderately strenuous project that will require frequent bending over and kneeling while scrubbing. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes, as well as protective items such as hats and sunglasses. Water and refillable water bottles will be available at the event.
