Coyote Talk (Patchogue Ferry Terminal)
Registration is required. See link to register.
Until recently, Long Island has been the only region of the continental United States without an established population of coyotes. However, Coyotes have been trickling in for over a decade, and are finally becoming established. Long Island now has several breeding pairs scattered around the island, and it is anticipated that that this new situation will be met with a variety of responses from fear to delight. The goal of the Long Island Coyote Study Group is to inform the public about the status of this natural expansion and educate Long Islanders about established and effective ways they can respond to this new neighbor, using simple behaviors that will mitigate potential human/conflicts. We hope that outreach presentations we are doing around the island will help us meet this goal.
Join members of the Long Island Coyote Study Group at the Patchogue Ferry Terminal on Saturday, April 27th from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Registration is required. See the link to register or go to tinyurl.com/coyotetalk2
