Creighton Hawk (Hopi Photographer)
- Iva Honyestewa specializes in weaving Hopi coiled (poota) and sifter (tutsaya) baskets, using traditional materials like yucca, willow, and three-leaf sumac. In 2014, she introduced the "pootsaya" basket, a unique fusion of both techniques. Her contributions to art and culture have been recognized through numerous awards.
- Creighton Hawk is a photographer from the Hopi village of Shongopavi. He specializes in portraits, landscapes, and wildlife, aiming to connect viewers to the beauty of the Southwest, through his lens.
Meet and talk with the demonstrators while they create and showcase their art at the Desert View Watchtower on the South Rim at the Desert View developed area at the eastern entrance to the park.
- The Cultural Demonstration program provides an opportunity for park visitors and community members to interact with tribal artisans from Grand Canyon's traditionally associated tribes - and for them to share their history and crafts, along with the skills, knowledge, and efforts involved in creating their craft and art.
- This series is made possible with grants from Grand Canyon Conservancy.
