Williamsport Canal Days

Join us at Cushwa Basin for the 50th Celebration of Canal Days!

August 22-23, 2026 C&O Canal is excited to partner with the Town of Williamsport for this vibrant annual community event! Stop by Byron Memorial Park (13 Park Rd) to discover local heritage displays, crafts, food vendors, and family events celebrating the area's rich canal history. 

Then come down to the C&O Canal NHP for tours of historic Lockhouse 44 and the iconic Cushwa Warehouse, free guided boat rides on the canal, and special musical guest Matthew Dodd singing Songs & Stories of Old Canal Days. 

Saturday, August 22, 2026 

Trolley Barn open from 9AM-4PM 

Cushwa Warehouse open from 9AM-4PM 

Lockhouse 44 open house starts at 10AM-3:30PM 

Guided Boat Tours at 10AM-2:30PM*

*Guided Boat Tours are free and sign-up is first-come, first served at the Cushwa Basin Visitor Center located inside the Trolley Barn. Sign-up opens 1 hour prior to each start time. Boats run every 1.5 hours (weather dependent) starting at 10:00AM, 11:30AM, 1:00PM, and last tour at 2:30PM.
