Description

Pierre L’Enfant was born in France before the American Revolution. He trained to be an artist following the footsteps of his father, who was a battle scene painter for King Louis XV. He was also a friend of George Washington, having served under him at Valley Forge. When Washington needed someone to create a metropolis in the wilderness along the Potomac, he reached out to his old buddy, Pierre “Peter” L’Enfant.  Join us to walk the grounds of the Washington Monument and discuss the epic life of Pierre Charles L’Enfant!
