Description

This program is presented by the Friends of Father Dickson Cemetery in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Moses Dickson - April 5, 1824.

Jeffrey Smith, Ph.D. Emeritus Professor of History at Lindenwood University will discuss the many roles of Moses Dickson: abolitionist, Black activist, leader, and organizer. Smith will explore the evolution of the African American burial ground named for Dickson that opened in 1903 along Sappington Road in present day Crestwood.
