Description

Please join Park Rangers on the Folk Art Center grounds every Friday night this summer for an engaging program about the Blue Ridge Parkway’s stories and sites. Topics for these 30 minute outdoor talks vary each week, so please call the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center at (828) 298-5330 x302 to get the weekly program description information. These programs are free, no tickets or reservations required.

Please note that these outdoor programs may be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. Topics may change from those listed below. Call the Visitor Center for updates.

For your increased comfort, please be aware of and bring the following with you:

  • Your own chair(s) or blanket to relax on there is no onsite seating provided.
  • Nonalcoholic refreshments & snacks for your group to enjoy. Please take your trash back home with you.
  • Sun protection to avoid sunburns (hat, long sleeves, and sunglasses) as shade is limited.
  • Any pets must remain under control on a six-foot leash. Please don’t let unruly pets disrupt the program.
  • An empty bladder, as there are no restrooms available on site after the center closes at 5:00 PM
