Art in the Park - Workshops
Registration is required for the workshops and plein air painting excursion.
Celebrate the beauty of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area through art during this two-day community event hosted by Glen Canyon Conservancy and Glen Canyon National Park Service.
On Friday, participants are invited to attend a series of free artist workshops at the Pera Club in Page, AZ. Workshops include instruction in composition, watercolor techniques, and plein air painting preparation, and are open to artists of all skill levels.
On Saturday morning, artists will gather near Glen Canyon Bridge for a guided plein air painting experience, capturing the dramatic landscapes of Glen Canyon from the Vermilion view trail. The event concludes Saturday evening with an artist reception and silent auction fundraiser at the Pera Club, featuring artwork created during the event. Light refreshments will be provided, and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase with valid identification (21+).
Whether you're an experienced artist or trying plein air painting for the first time, Art in the Park offers an opportunity to connect with Glen Canyon's landscapes through creativity while supporting education, interpretation, and conservation programs.
The Friday workshops and Saturday evening reception are held indoors. The Saturday plein air painting experience takes place outdoors on uneven desert terrain. Participants should wear sturdy footwear, bring sun protection and water, and be prepared for changing weather conditions.
