Junior Poets – Telling America’s Story
Poetry has been a way that Americans have told our stories for our entire history. From “Paul Revere’s Ride” to “Casey at the Bat” to Shel Silverstein’s “Paul Bunyan”, children have learned about our folklore and history through verse.
Bring your junior poets out to learn about these and other great poems and let them give a try at writing their own stories in verse. They can leave them to show off to others or take them home to remember their day by and help them improve their craft!
This program will take place outside of the Nature Center.
