Battle of the Crater 162nd Anniversary

Eastern Front Visitor Center 9:30 am – 4:30 pm 
Living historians portraying civilians will explain what life was like for those noncombatants who endured the siege within the city of Petersburg. There will also be performances of period music throughout the day 

Eastern Front Tour Road Stop 8 
10:30 am – Ranger Program: Digging the Mine 
11:30 am – Artillery Demonstration 
12:00 pm – Infantry Demonstration 

2:30 pm – Ranger Program: United States Colored Troops in the Battle of the Crater 
3:30 pm – Artillery Demonstration 
4:00 pm – Infantry Demonstration 

(All programs will run 20-25 minutes) 

The living historians will be available for discussions between programs at their encampment from 10 am to 4 pm. 

All programs at Petersburg National Battlefield are free and open to the public. The event schedule is weather permitting is subject to change.
