Description

Get outdoors this summer by participating in a Let’s Go Fishing summer program at First State National Historical Park! The Let’s Go Fishing summer program is a FREE public program for youth and their families to learn how to fish or enhance their fishing skills. The program will be offered 8:00am to 11:30am on June 5th, June 6th, July 10th and July 11th. Each program is structured the same, so participants only need to attend one to learn everything they need to start fishing this summer! During the program, youth and their families will participate in activities that will build a foundation for safe, enjoyable fishing, and an appreciation for the watersheds they live in. To reduce the spread of COVID-19 all participants will be required to wear a mask, in accordance with CDC and OSHA guidelines.

Those participating on June 5th or June 6th will not need a license as those two dates are free fishing days in Delaware.

Each program day is limited to 5 families or 25 total participants. Please register early to claim your spot!

Simply e-mail the park's Educational Technician the following information: Number of participants you are registering and the following information on each participant: 1) First name, Last Initial 2) Age 3) Status of Fishing License (only for participants 16-65) 4) Level of fishing experience on a scale of 1 - 3 (0 - I have never fished in my life, 2- I have only done this once or twice, 3 – I go fishing all summer) 5) Any special accommodations 6) Your two preferred program dates, labeled “1st choice” and “2nd choice.” 7) Phone number to contact you in case the program is cancelled due to weather. 8) If you would like to schedule a phone call to discuss any questions or concerns.
