Description
In honor of the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, join the Mary McLeod Bethune Council House NHS for a Protest Art Class on Friday, August 18th at 11 am. Come out and learn from an art instructor about the creative works that are produced by activists, social movements, and regular, everyday people, that are used by a cross section of collectives to inform and persuade citizens. Guests will also learn about the National Council of Negro Women's role in the March and how the Council House was used as a rallying point on that historic day sixty years ago.
After the program, guests are welcome to take a ranger-led tour the Council House. To RSVP for the program, please email BethuneNHS@nps.gov.
