Cemetery cleaning event! Come help out!

Serving those who served us: Over the course of time hundreds of volunteers have served by cleaning the 14,000+ headstones out at Chalmette National Cemetery.

The cleaning is starting up again with a huge push over the next year to get all headstones looking like new. There are 10 dates planned over the next year all starting at 8am and ending at 12pm.

Whether you are a group of 2 or a group of 80, anyone can help in this effort.

You can schedule a volunteer date by emailing e-mail us.

We ask volunteers to bring their own water/snacks/sunscreen/bug spray/etc.

All work supplies will be provided.

Future Cemetery Volunteer Dates:

  • Friday, March 11th
  • Saturday, April 9th
  • Friday, April 22nd (Earth Day)
  • Saturday, May 14th
