Everglades Dark Sky Festival (in Flamingo)

Half the park is after dark! Celebrate dark skies in Flamingo with special events throughout the day. Park at Guy Bradley Visitor Center and board a free shuttle to begin your night sky journey. Activities include:

• • 1:00 – 2:30: Unearthing Your Voice Creative Writing Workshop and The Ritual to Beauty Short Film Presentation by Shenny De Los Angeles
     
  • 4:00 – 5:00: Where Darkness Still Lives: Night Sky Photography Presentation by Anthony Sleiman 
     
  • 5:00 – 9:30: Ranger-led Night Walks (departing every 30 minutes)
     
  • 5:30 – 6:30: Chasing the Last Light: Ranger-led Sunset Photography Workshop 
     
  • 6:00 – 8:30: Night Sky Exploration Stations featuring bat monitoring, blacklight scavenger hunts, and more. 
     
  • 7:00 – 8:30: Starry Night Backcountry Boat Tour (space limited; additional ticket purchase required) 
     
  • 7:30 – 8:30: The Cosmic Roller Coaster: Ranger-led Astronomy Talk 
     
  • 7:30 – 9:00: Starry Night Backcountry Boat Tour (space limited; additional ticket purchase required)
     
  • 7:30 – 9:00: Intro to Night Sky Photography Workshop with Anthony Sleiman 
     
  • 8:30 – 10:00: Telescope Viewing  

Food and hot drinks will be available for purchase from 6 to 10 p.m.
