Description

The Martian takes a fictional look at the potential future of space exploration.  A mission to Mars in 2035 goes awry and an astronaut thought to have perished is left stranded on Mars.  The astronaut utilizes his resources to survive as his crew devises a plan to rescue him.  This film not only explores themes related to the legacy of the Apollo program, but what homesteading might eventually look like on Mars.

This year's film festival selections will focus on innovation in transportation during the homestead era and mark the 50th anniversary of the Apollo lunar landing. Join us on Saturdays and Sundays through January and February at 2:00 p.m., in the Homestead National Monument of America Education Center to catch them all!
